F152 flame monitoring device

Paired with an FFS07 or FFS08 flame sensor, F152 forms a safety arrangement that optically watches the flames of single-burner systems, for applications that do not call for demanding flame discrimination. It works only with these two sensors, and each F152 takes a single sensor. The sensors measure in the UV or IR range, which is chosen to suit the fuel. F152 is approved for continuous operation and certified to SIL3 under DIN EN 61508-2.

The unit has a plastic housing with integrated control electronics and mounts on a DIN rail. Thanks to its two-channel design with electronic self-monitoring, no mechanical shutter is needed. It evaluates the flame frequency digitally between 10 and 200 Hz, shows its states on LEDs and has a 0…20 mA intensity output as standard. No adaptation to national mains frequencies is required. The status contact (NC) and the flame signal contact (NO) are floating changeover contacts.

F152 serves single- or multi-fuel burners in heating plants, power plants, process furnaces and standard boiler applications, firing oil, gas, biomass, dust or process gases. The standard supply voltage is 230 V AC; a 115 V AC version is prepared at the factory on request. It fulfils DIN EN 298 and, for process burners, DIN EN 746-2.
