F200K compact flame scanner

SIL3 compact flame scanner with a UV or IR sensor and evaluation electronics in one housing, for continuous operation

Flame monitoring

LAMTEC · F200K

  • SIL3 · IP67
  • UV-2 · IR-1 · IR-2
  • 24 V DC
  • Continuous

F200K combines the flame sensor and the switching amplifier in one compact housing, so no separate evaluation unit is needed, and it is certified to SIL3 under DIN EN 61508-2. In firing systems with one or more burners it takes on the safety supervision of the burner flame in continuous operation; once the flame is extinguished, it switches to the safe flame OFF state. It is found in waste incineration plants, chemical plants, heating plants and large power stations, as well as in firing systems with only a limited view of the flame.

It can be used on firing systems burning oil, gas, hydrogen, biomass, wood, coal or special gases such as refinery or blast furnace gas. It also supervises flames where flue gas recirculation is strong, and yellowish waste gases that give off no UV radiation or whose UV part is screened by water vapour or dust. F200K is offered with a UV-2, IR-1 or IR-2 sensor; two preset operating modes are available, and commissioning needs no special aids.

It runs on 24 V DC; the power supply accessories connect it to 230 V or 115 V mains. It works at ambient temperatures of -40…+75 °C, and higher temperatures are possible with a cooling air housing. In one of LAMTEC's sample configurations, F200K with an FS50 cooling air housing supervises a heavy oil firing in a safe area at 100 °C ambient with a 15 m cable. Ex versions for hazardous areas, F200K Ex and F200K Ex-II, are offered separately.
