XEC18H is TESI's standard high-energy power pack, used to light every type of gas and light fuel oil in boilers, furnaces and gas turbines. High-energy ignition can take the place of air/gas pilot torches; it is not affected by moisture, liquids or the dirt that combustion leaves on the electrodes, needs no maintenance and poses no electric shock risk.
XEC18H delivers 18 J (±10 %) per spark at an average of 2 sparks per second, with an output voltage of 3000 V (±10 %), higher than the 1400 V of the heavy-duty units XEC10, XEC15 and XEC24. On 115 V AC it draws 2.5 A RMS (max. 9.5 A) and 160 W (±5 %); on 230 V AC, 3.6 A RMS (max. 15.5 A) and 320 W (±5 %). Mains frequency is 50 Hz, with 60 Hz on request. The duty cycle, stated for 60 °C, is 33 %: 20 s of sparking and 40 s of pause, up to 3 times in a row.
The standard operating range is -5…+60 °C, while a special execution works at -30…+60 °C. Protection is IP66. For fixed and portable systems the unit comes in three housings: the SA housing for safe areas (IP66), and the flameproof EJB housing (II 2G Ex d IIB+H2, IP66) and GUB housing (II 2G Ex d IIC, IP66) for Ex zones 1 and 2.
