XEC15 is one of TESI's heavy-duty wall-mounted high-energy power units and offers considerably more power than the standard units. Its power unit sits in a wall-mounting box and works with a high-energy ignition rod carrying an exchangeable spark tip and a high-voltage connecting cable; the rod is rigid as standard, with a flexible design possible for tilting tangential firing. It lights oil and gas burners directly, diesel and heavy fuel oil included.
Every spark delivers 15 J (±10 %) at 1400 V (±10 %) output voltage, at an average of 4 sparks per second that can be adjusted on request. The duty cycle, stated for 60 °C, permits up to 15 minutes of sparking at 4 sparks/s followed by at least 3 minutes of pause, with no more than 3 cycles in a row. For comparison, XEC10 gives 10 J at 24 sparks/s for up to 1 minute, and XEC24 gives 24.5 J at 6 sparks/s for up to 8 minutes.
The unit runs on 115 or 230 V AC at 50 Hz (60 Hz on request), drawing at most 5 A, about 3.5 A RMS at 4 sparks/s, and 350 W. The standard operating range is -20…+60 °C, with -30…+60 °C available on request as a special execution; protection is IP66, other ratings on request. High-energy ignition is not disturbed by moisture, liquids or combustion deposits on the electrodes, requires no maintenance and carries no risk of electric shock.
