The SB-E is a fully automatic steam boiler in which electric heating elements inside a pressure vessel turn water into steam. Because nothing is burned, the installation needs no burner, flue, fuel deliveries or fuel storage; at the point of use it releases no COx, NOx or SOx and runs almost silently. It suits plants with an adequate power supply, sites where flue gas cannot be discharged or open flames are prohibited, and locations without gas or liquid fuel. Typical uses include steam heating, jacketed process vessels, autoclaves, the food, pharmaceutical, chemical, fertiliser, rubber, paper and building materials industries, and refineries.

According to TSB's product page, the SB-E is built for up to 5000 kg/h of steam, up to 3500 kW and up to 100 bar (1450 psig). The series listed in TSB's catalogue under type code SG-E starts at 100 kg/h; catalogue capacities apply at 6 atm working pressure and 102 °C feedwater. Solid-state relays (SSR) set the heater output proportionally. Almost all of the electrical energy becomes heat, so efficiency is close to 100 %, and steam purity is 99.95 % across the operating range. For larger or fluctuating steam demand, several units are combined modularly.

The boiler arrives on a single skid with heating elements, feedwater pump, safety equipment, fittings and electrical panel, so only power, feedwater and the steam line have to be connected. The DIN-compliant flanged heaters have Incoloy sheaths rated at 70–75 W/in² and withstand overvoltage of up to 10 %. A PLC with HMI supervises overpressure protection, staged water level safeguards, heater surface temperature and emergency shutdown; alarm and run signals leave via dry contacts, remote monitoring data via Modbus, Modbus TCP/IP or Profinet. Design follows EN 13445, PED 2014/68/EU and ASME Section VIII Div. 1.

Benefits

SB-E electric steam boiler

  • No burner, flue, fuel line or fuel tank: lower investment and a smaller footprint
  • Zero emissions at the point of use — no COx, NOx or SOx — and near-silent running
  • Almost all electrical energy turns into heat: efficiency close to 100 %
  • Proportional SSR power and multi-stage pressure control for fast load response and quick cold starts
  • Delivered ready to connect on one skid; no boiler room ventilation needed
  • Lower running costs through 24- or 72-hour operation without permanent supervision
  • Remote monitoring over Modbus, Modbus TCP/IP and Profinet; alarms via dry contacts
  • Several units can be linked modularly or in a redundant cascade
